THE OMNITONE RECORDING STUDIOS

The Team

It’s important to know who you will be working with. The Omnitone Team has been hand-picked based on their experience and quality. Everyone has a different musical specialty that they bring to each project. When every part of the recording process is focused on in detail, and the right people are put in place around an artist, what comes to musical fruition is much bigger than the individual parts it took to make it.

Darren Sher

Owner/Songwriter/Producer

Anyone who has worked in a recording studio with Darren Sher is immediately struck by his dedication, commitment to his craft and his attention to detail doing what it takes to get the song “just right.”

Darren has all the skills you would look for in a quality music producer- talent, a raw passion for music, a great ear, technical skill, and an unparalleled work ethic.

At a very young age, Darren took to the piano. By the age of 10, he came to be regarded as a protégé at his craft. This potential was soon recognized, encouraged and nurtured by some of the biggest names in the recording industry. Artists such as Snoop Dogg, Jonathan Cain of “Journey,” Gordon Bahari (Stevie Wonder – Songs In The Key of Life), and Matt Martone (3 Doors Down) are but a few who played significant roles as mentors or in co-creative projects as Darren made the transition from musician to producer.

Today, Darren has come to be regarded as the “go to guy” for musicians, singers and songwriters who have arrived at the point where they are ready to make pro-quality recordings.

Darren has been instrumental in the development of many new and emerging artists as well as those with numerous credits for charting singles and albums worldwide.

Recently, Darren had songs that charted on Billboard, writing and producing with artists Rosalee and Snoop Dogg.  He has also engineered produced and/or written songs for nationally televised programs, film and TV sound tracks and for live production shows. Probably his proudest accomplishment is the growing list of artists who, once having worked with Darren and his Omnitone team, would not consider recording anywhere else.

Darren is a key member of the music production team at The Omnitone. If you’re looking for a quality music producer, in a fabulous recording studio, while working with an amazing group of individuals, look no further. Darren brings all of his experience, expertise and a heartfelt passion to every project he is associated with.

Mike Lasaponara

Multiplatinum Drummer - (records in Atmos)

In the heart of October 1980, Michael Lasaponara's story began. From an early age, nestled in a home where music was as natural as breathing, Michael discovered his love for drumming. His father, not just a parent but a mentor with profound musical roots from the Eastman School of Music, introduced young Michael to the world of rhythms and beats.

Michael's journey with the drums transformed from a childhood fascination to a serious pursuit at SUNY Fredonia, where he initially studied Sound Recording. It was here, amidst the technicalities of sound and music, that Michael's true passion surfaced: not behind the soundboard, but behind the drum kit, captivating audiences with his dynamic performances.

This passion led to his first significant break with "Roses Are Red." His involvement in this band marked the beginning of a promising career, highlighted by their appearance on the Warped Tour compilations in 2005 and 2006 and the earning of two gold records — a testament to his emerging talent.

As his reputation grew, Michael found himself collaborating with some of the music industry's respected names, including The Goo Goo Dolls, Lou Gramm, and Cute is What We Aim For. His rhythmic journey also took him across oceans, touring extensively through the United Kingdom and Europe, sharing his unique drumming style with a global audience.

Beyond his performance accolades, Michael has embraced the evolving music industry. He's adept in Atmos recording, offering artists the latest in recording technology. His studio is a treasure trove of rare and distinctive drum sets, each piece handpicked to provide the perfect sound for any project.
